Flux Pavilion: Tesla Tour – Win Tickets Flux Pavilion: Tesla Tour – Win Tickets

This coming Thursday October 1st, Flux Pavilion is bringing his Tesla Tour to Indianapolis with (now) 12th Planet and Diskord. IndyMojo is offereing a chance to win tickets.  Check out the information on how to enter below.

Flux Pavilion, is an English dance music record producer, singer-songwriter, DJ and label owner who has been performing since 2008. He plays the drums, guitar, saxophone and piano.

Flux Pavilion has headlined three US tours, two UK tours, and several festival DJ sets, including Glastonbury, Reading, Coachella, and EDC Vegas. He has also made live performances with Example, Foreign Beggars and Chiddy Bang. Flux has listed his sound to be inspired by The Prodigy and Rusko.

Flux Pavilion co-founded Circus Records along with childhood friend Doctor P, in 2009 with the backing of D&B pioneer DJ Swan-E and Earl Falconer of UB40. The label has been responsible for releasing some of the most successful electronic music of the 2010s, launching the careers of many talented artists in the process. In 2011 he produced the single “Bass Cannon”, which peaked at number 56 on the UK Singles Chart, and was placed on the Radio 1 A-List. Along with Doctor P, Flux Pavilion presented the 2011 compilation album Circus One, to which he contributed four tracks. He is arguably best known for his song “I Can’t Stop” from the Lines in Wax EP. In February 2011, Chiddy Bang created a freestyle to the song, which has appeared on their Peanut Butter and Swelly mixtape. In August 2011, the track was sampled by producer Shama “Sak Pase” Joseph for the song “Who Gon Stop Me” by Jay-Z and Kanye West on their collaborative album Watch the Throne.  On 5 March 2012, “I Can’t Stop” was used in the viral Kony 2012 campaign. It was also featured in the 2012 video game SSX, the 2013 film The Great Gatsby and the trailer for Ron Howard’s 2013 film Rush starring Chris Hemsworth.

In December 2011, Flux Pavilion was nominated for the BBC’s Sound of 2012 poll, as one of only two independent artists on the longlist.[4] Steele has also sung on multiple tracks for both himself and other artists, including “Voscillate”, “Starlight” and “The Scientist”. On 28 January 2013, he released his new EP, Blow the Roof, which was received generally favorably by critics.[5] One of his songs, “Double Edge”, is featured in the 2012 video game Need for Speed: Most Wanted. On 8 September 2013, Steele announced a new EP to be released in October. Released on 11 November 2013, the Freeway EP consists of his big hit “Gold Love”, which features the vocals of Rosie Oddie, in addition to other featured artists Steve Aoki and Turin Brakes.

Flux’s own output has gone from strength to strength; originally, he topped the dubstep music genre, before moving into electronic music, where he also excelled. He worked on a diverse selection of original tracks and collaborations with Childish Gambino, Dillon Francis, Steve Aoki and Turin Brakes plus remixing for the likes of Skrillex, Jamiroquai, MIA and DJ Fresh. While most students are thinking about where to go on their gap year, Flux Pavilion was celebrating ‘I Can’t Stop’ being picked as Zane Lowe’s ‘Hottest Record in the World’ when at the time he was still living in student halls. Ever since, Flux’s music can now be found regularly cropping up in the playlists of MistaJam, Fearne Cotton and Eddy Temple Morris as well as drawing attention from Snoop Dogg, Dr. Dre, Prodigy, Fat Boy Slim and Christina Aguilera to name a few. In September 2014, Flux Pavilion was asked by The Walt Disney Company to remix the theme to Star Wars Rebels in order to market and draw attention to the series.

His latest album and tour is entitled Tesla.  Featuring tracks with  Doctor, Soulsonic Force, Riff Raff and more. “I honestly couldn’t have put this together without all of the support that I’ve had over the past seven years from you guys. You kept me going and kept me writing and I feel blessed to have such a dedicated bunch of fans. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I have writing it.” ~ Flux Pavilion

12th Planet is the electronic music pioneer whose off-axis beats and subsonic frequencies orbit on the forefront of global bass culture. Recently named “Los Angeles dubstep god” by Rolling Stone, 12th Planet AKA John Dadzie and his influential label SMOG Records are widely credited for bringing the British movement stateside, and continue to be a crucial force in the evolution of electronic music. 12th Planet’s DJ sets now include a myriad of styles that reflect the current, diverse landscape of EDM music and continue to display his role as an essential tastemaker in the dance music world.

12th Planet burst onto the scene in 2006, releasing tracks that helped ignite the North American EDM explosion and collaborating with the likes of Skrillex, Kill The Noise, Datsik and Plastician. In 2012, 12th Planet’s seminal track “Reasons” (Doctor P Remix) was named by SPIN Magazine as one of the ‘30 Greatest Dubstep Songs of All Time’ — after all, “nothing set the tone for domestic bass culture quite like this Planet’s orbit,” said SPIN. 12th Planet has gone on to be recognized as “King of Dubstep” by SPIN and “US dubstep godfather” by UK’s dance music bible Mixmag after headlining tours across the globe and performing at major festivals including Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and more.

Since 2006, 12th Planet has also led what’s become one of the most thriving underground movements in electronic music, with MTV calling the crew a “pioneering incubator of bass music in America.” The SMOG crew, with 12th Planet at the helm, continues to produce top quality events in Los Angeles and beyond, always pushing forward as an internationally recognized leader in U.S. bass music. However, John Dadzie’s role has extended beyond just bass music to encompass the whole of EDM, including what he recently described to OC Weekly as “transition music,” — a sound that incorporates diverse styles and BPMs. His DJ set is no longer classifiable by genre but best dubbed “a trip to the 12th Planet and back.”

The distinctive sound they have created is driven by a blend of strong melodies and unmistakable hooks with trap 808s, unique drum work and gritty neurofunk reese basses. I’ve been a Flux fan for yeaaars but I had no idea they were coming to indy. As fate would have it, I am actually off work this day! After the work week I’ve had, you should really be giving me that ticket. I work 40 hours a week in retail. If you’re not cringing right now, you should be. Plus, I’m 23 and I’ve only ever been to 2 concerts; which is just really sad. Help a sister out. ♡
