Good People + Good Times = Great Festival Good People + Good Times = Great Festival

Whether you’ve just returned from Summer Camp looking for your next festival fix or you’re counting down the days until Hyperion Homegrown later this summer – Good People Good Times should be up next on your summer festival schedule. Returning for the fifth consecutive year in a row with their best line up yet, Good People Good Times has certainly earned its spot among some of the Midwest’s best festivals.

The Festival

Situated upon 500 acres at beautiful Explore Brown County, the festival grounds offer a cozy camping experience that many larger events can’t provide when catering to massive crowds. Instead, Good People Good Times boasts camping so close to the stage that attendees are never more than a quick walk from the epicenter of festival activity.

A short jaunt down highway 65 gets you there in just over an hour from Indianapolis and the absence of big name, national headliners keeps the ticket price at a cool $50.

Speaking of tickets, they’re only selling 800 of them, so make sure you purchase yours in advance. Presales will be will call only, so to make entry a breeze, print off your ticket confirmation and bring a photo ID with you. If you wait to buy at the gate, you’ll not only risk not getting in, but you’ll pay an extra $10, too.

The Bands

Perhaps you’ve not yet had the chance to see Turbo Suit, the new incarnation of Indy’s homegrown jamtronica band Cosby Sweater. Perhaps you’ve never seen the awe-inspiring, raw talent of one-man-band Zach Deputy. Perhaps you’re still sad about the shortened set from The Main Squeeze at Mojostock. Or perhaps you’re jazzed to catch a double set from Ekoostik Hookah, one of Ohio’s greatest jam bands. If any of these statements apply to you, Good People Good Times is the answer.

We’d also be remiss not to highlight Audiodacity, one of Indy’s fastest-rising, hardest working, genre-of-all-trades bands. For the super funked-up festival attendees, don’t miss Cincinnati’s own bass player extraordinaire, Freekbass. Bluegrass fans will be happy to see double sets from both The New Old Calvary and Flatland Harmony Experiment. And if you’re ready to take a chance on an up-and-coming band out of Bloomington, don’t miss 800 lb Gorilla.

Whatever your reasoning for heading to Good People Good Times, it’s clear there’s something for everyone at this festival – even something for the kids! All ages 12 and under will be admitted for free (must be accompanied by an adult at all times) and are encouraged to visit the bounce house on Saturday from 12-4 pm. Also look for face painting by Joy Carter and a children’s hooping workshop on Saturday at 2 pm – all included in the price of your festival ticket!

The Main Squeeze is who I’m super stoked to see. My good friend Elijah talked about how good they are and ever since I’ve really wanted to go experience it. And to top it off, this will be my first festival ever.

Could not be more excited for this whole weekend and line up, this will be one of, if not the only, fest I’ll get to attend this summer so picking just one band is almost impossible. Super stoked to see funky junk continue to kill it, this being their last show of the summer. Also havnt seen glostik willy in almost 2 years so there are guaranteed good times to be had!!!
