Greensky Bluegrass – Win Tickets Greensky Bluegrass – Win Tickets

The band was formed in the fall of 2000 by Michael Arlen Bont (banjo), Dave Bruzza (guitar), and Paul Hoffman (mandolin). As newcomers to the bluegrass scene, the three drew upon an array of influences and varied musical backgrounds, reflected in their May 2004 release of Less than Supper, recorded with bassist Chris Carr and dobro player Al Bates. Both Bates and Carr left the band shortly thereafter. In the fall of the same year, bassist Michael Devol joined the group.

In the summer of 2006 the band were winners of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition,[1] earning them a spot on the main stage of the 2007 festival. Soon thereafter they released their second studio album, Tuesday Letter, produced by Tim Carbone of Railroad Earth.

In November 2007 the band released its first live recording Live At Bell’s, documenting two shows at Bell’s Brewery in their hometown of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Just over a month later Greensky Bluegrass added Anders Beck of Wayword Sons to the line-up, replacing Al Bates on dobro.

In August 2008 the band released their third studio recording Five Interstates, also produced by Tim Carbone.

A live series, All Access was released in 2010 with volumes 1 & 2, featuring live performances in their entirety.

Their fourth, and most critically acclaimed album, Handguns, made its debut on Billboard’s Bluegrass Charts at No. 3 in October 2011, and spent nine weeks on the chart, landing at No. 33 for 2011 on Billboard’s Year End Bluegrass Chart

I’ve always liked bluegrass, but also like jam bands. I’ve seen this band once before and they are a great mix of both! The light show is most impressive too. Even though they don’t have a fiddle, the dobro makes up just as well as he can jam very well. I won’t be able to make Yonder Mountain or Railroad Earth at the Vogue, so this is my best hope to see a great stringband in Indy. Plus it’s my wife’s Birthday!!! I am hitting the road to Nashville, TN the next morning, but I’ll sure appreciate any help getting to the show!!

I already have my tickets, I’ve had them almost since they went on sale. I’ve seen GSBG several times in Kzoo and a few other times at other venues/festivals, and these guys straight jam like no other. I deserve the tickets because I will give them away to other friends who are not going (I have 9 other people I know going). By giving them to someone that isn’t already going, I will open their eyes to an amazing concert experience, allowing Greensky to expand their ever growing fan base even more.

My wife and I hace to take our daughter to Indianapolis on Friday and we need something to do while she does her thing. I can’t think of any better way to spend that time than to see one of the best jam grass bands there is. I got to see them a few months ago in Cincinnati but my wife was unable to go. She would definitely be a new fan if you picked us

So my dear friend introduced me to GreenSky this year, and even treated me to a live show in Cincinnati. Unfortunately, I became ill & had to leave the show before we heard more than a couple songs. In the process, my vinyl record I’d just bought from you guys, was also taken. Major bummer! Well, my friend stayed by my side, the while time, and missed the rest of the show. He’s one hell of a guy! And I owe him a pair of tickets, for sure. You guys wanna help me make sure he gets to see you guys this time?! It’d be pretty special. We love y’all!
